Spiralgirl emerged from the idea that spirals contain energy and are a lovely visual of how creative energy works.

I love that our bodies spiral on a particle level, and plants also grows in spirals. This is not just spiral theory. We live inside of and breathe spiral energy into our cells. The planets spiral around each other, and I understand that there are many universes of planets and stars spinning around each other. To me, the spiral is the most simple map of complex systems and structures that are intricate and so consistent ... how can I not be in complete awe of spirals?

Creativity is cyclical and it is contagious. People have written me over the years to tell that they felt inspired to do their own work after spending some time here so this place has been a source and an exchange of ideas.

I think being creative comes in waves. The stuff that's here comes from my life: when I look at the old pictures or writing it is always a reflection of whatever was going on at the time. Sometimes I think have used this site to exorcise my spirit. I go into a trance and whatever comes out is not what I expected.

This site is an archive of some of the stories and stuff I wrote about for the past ten years. I am still publishing my photographs and writing actively and making art. This is my passion right now.


Who knows how long this unregulated web is going to last, but there is incredible sweetness being able to play here for 11 years.
